Indulging in a personal exploration of the many, often complex, definitions of home became a necessary pursuit for Kathy to discover exactly where she belonged. Along the way, she gained an appreciation for tired mothers, brutally honest men, and the open road.
Such complexities and appreciations are featured in Ramshackle Houses, a quarter-finalist in the 2015 Vine Leaves Vignette Collection Award. As of 2018 this collection was e-published with a new title: Ramshackle Houses & Southern Parables
In November 2018 poems from RH&SP were shared along with a “confession” over at Underfoot Poetry Another collection, also e-published in 2018, No Voice of Her Own, Vol. 1 plays with that amazing poetic form the cento.
Earlier poems and photographs have been published online by The Dead Mule, The Blue Hour Magazine, Red Ochre Lit, Spilt Milk Magazine, and The Camel Saloon, while more recent haiku and tankas were shared in the spring of 2019 at The Zen Space.
In recent months poetry has gone to the wayside, a novel has been completed, and Kathy is currently querying literary agents. Stay tuned for updates.
